Tom Gell

Thomas (Tom) Gell is the Vice President Mineral Resources employed by AngloGold Ashanti in their Johannesburg office. He qualified with an BSc (Hons) degree in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1990 and has 28 years’ experience mostly with Anglo American or AngloGold Ashanti and dominantly in gold mining – both open pit and underground. He has operational experience from his time on mine sites as well as oversite and strategic exposure from Corporate rolls based in AngloGold Ashanti’s Johannesburg office. He has a wide range of Brownfields exposure but sees Resource modelling and Mine Geology as his core skills.
